  • Sisaldub varu- ja kaitseainena peaaegu kõigis taimedes. Eriti sahharoosirikkad on suhkruroog, suhkrpeedi juurikad, vahtra mahl jne. Kasutatakse väga laialdaselt maitseainena toidu valmistamisel ja selle maitsestamisel. Korjetaimedest on sahharoosirikkam hobukastani (65–70%) nektar. Suurema sahharoosisisaldusega on lehemesi (3,95%) ja pärnaõiemesi (1,13%).
