Kaubaveolepinguga kohustub üks isik (vedaja) teise isiku (saatja) ees vedama vallasasja (veos) sihtkohta ning andma selle üle kolmandale isikule (saajale). Saatja kohustub selle eest maksma vedajale tasu (veotasu).
