Kaubaveolepinguga kohustub üks isik (vedaja) teise isiku (saatja) ees vedama vallasasja (veos) sihtkohta ning andma selle üle kolmandale isikule (saajale). Saatja kohustub selle eest maksma vedajale tasu (veotasu).
Under this Regulation, the transport of goods and the journeys made by the vehicles must both be described, but it is undesirable to impose on the transport operators an excessive increase in the burden of statistics by asking them to describe in detail the transport of goods and the vehicle journeys.
The establishment of a common transport policy entails, inter alia, laying down common rules applicable to access to the market in the international carriage of goods by road within the territory of the Community, as well as laying down the conditions under which non-resident hauliers may operate transport services within a Member State.
In the event that the products are transported to a Member State other than the Member State of landing, the transporter shall transmit within 48 hours following the landing a copy of the transport document to the competent authorities of the Member State in whose territory the first marketing is declared to take place.
