  • reflektoorse reaktsiooni intensiivsuse või esinemise tõenäosuse suurenemine, mis tuleneb varasemast kokkupuutest stiimuliga, mis seda reaktsiooni esile kutsub
  • an increase in the intensity or probability of a reflex response resulting from earlier exposure to a stimulus that elicits that response
    Good to know
    • Sensitization produces the opposite effect of habituation. The sensitization effect is produced by exposing dogs to an intense sample of the unconditioned stimulus sufficient to elicit a startle or surprise reaction. Subsequent exposures to the unconditioned stimulus at lower intensities (perhaps previously ignored) will produce a noticeable increase in unconditioned response magnitude.

  • Science has examined many different types of learning that include: Habituation, sensitization, desensitization, positive reinforcement, positive punishment, negative reinforcement, negative punishment, extinction, imitation, mimicry, and social learning.

  • roostevaba terase teradevahelise korrosiooni tundlikkuse kasv tingituna karbiidide sadestumisest terapiiridel (vt korrosioonikindel teras; vrd sensibiliseerimine)
    Good to know
    • Mõningates austeniitterastes kriitilistel temperatuuridel (430-760 oC) aset leidev kroomkarbiidi sadestumine terapiiridel, mis põhjustab terase korrosioonikindluse languse tingituna kroomi sisalduse vähenemisest nendes piirkondades.
  • increase in the sensitivity of stainless steels to intergranular corrosion due to the precipitation of carbides at the grain bondaries (see: stainless steel; compare: sensitization (as process in coatings technology))
    Good to know
    • A condition which affects some austenitic steels which have been subjected to temperatures in the critical range, typically 430-760 oC; complex chromium carbides precipitate and reside primarly at the grain boundaries, causing deteriotation of its corrosion resistance by depleting its adjacent areas of chromium.
