private limited-liability company - in the UK a company that has a limited number of shareholders and whose shares are not offered to the general public (= a private company). It is in contrast to a public limited liability company (= a public company).

Inglise keeles kasutusel mitu sõnastust: "private limited company", "private limited liability company", "private limited liability companies limited by shares". Rahandusministeeriumi eksperdi sõnul on viimases variandis täpsustus "limited by shares" vajalik seetõttu, et Ühendkuningriigis tehakse vahet ühinguliikidel "limited by shares" ja "limited by guarantees".
