Notes

Johannes Aavik lõi sõna meede 1941. a selleks, et asendada mitmetähenduslikku sõna abinõu, millel on ka vahendi tähendus. Meede võimaldab väljendi abinõusid tarvitusele võtma kõrval öelda lühemalt meetmeid võtma (vrd inglise to take measures, vene принимать меры), kuid levinud on ka sisukordusega väljend meetmeid tarvitusele või kasutusele võtma. Sisukordus aitab tähendust rõhutada.

Liiasus on keeles tavapärane nähtus, millel on kontekstis sageli täita oma roll. Vt ka EKI teatmiku artiklit „Liiasus“.
