  • Gipskartonplatten sind im wesentlichen aus Gips bestehende Platten, deren Flächen und Längskanten mit einem festhaftenden, dem Verwendungsweck entsprechenden Karton ummantelt sind. Sie können werksmässig weiterverarbeitet - z.B. zugeschnitten, gebohrt, gefast, geschlitzt, beschichtet - werden.   • Gypsum plasterboards consist of a gypsum core encased in, and firmly bonded to, strong durable paper liners to form flat rectangular boards. The paper surfaces may vary according to the use of the particular type of board, and the core may contain additives to impart additional properties. The longitudinal edges are paper covered and profiled to suite the application.
  • This example shows the CE marking applied to a gypsum plasterboard product. For the purposes of this example, it is assumed that characteristics such as thermal conductivity and direct airborne sound insulation are covered by "generic" values tabulated in the European standard, and that other characteristics identified in the mandate are not relevant to this intended use.
