  • kõvaketas (Hard Disk) on suure mahutavusega (paarikümnest megabaidist mitmete gigabaitideni), kuid üldjuhul mittevahetatav ketas, st. ta on kettaseadmesse sisse ehitatud ja riknemise korral pole „kodustes tingimustes“ remonditav. Vajaduse koral vahetatakse ta välja koos kettaseadmega. Kõvaketta eeliseks võib lugeda ka suurt töökindlust
