In everyday speech, the term "lamp" is often used to refer to a light fixture—for example, "table lamp"—which is technically incorrect. It is also very common to use the word "bulb" (Estonian: *pirn*)—which is entirely inaccurate—to refer to a lamp; for instance, "electric bulb" (Estonian: *elektripirn*). This usage even appears in the catalogs of retail companies.
