poolkuiv vein
Usage examples
Valge veini magusus sõltub viinamarjade suhkrust, millest suur osa muutub veini käärimise ajal alkoholiks. Veini alles jäävat suhkrut nimetatakse jääksuhkruks. Mida rohkem seda on, seda magusam vein on.
medium dry wine
Usage examples
  • Off-dry means a wine with a little sugar left, enough to taste as a soft roundness but not enough to call sweet. It is not a legal term. The closest legal band is the EU's medium dry: up to 12 g/L, or 18 g/L when acidity is high. Wine Spectator sums it up: "there's a bit of leftover sugar."
semi-dry wine
Usage examples
  • Here is an overview of wines that are usually made dry in Austria. At this point, however, it must be emphasised that each of these grape varieties can just as well be semi-dry or sweet.
