Cross-linked glycanes is a heterogenus group of polysaccharide. Cross-linked glycanes bind to cellulose microfibril with hydrogen bonds. Cross-linked glycanes are present along with cellulose in almost all plant cell walls and take part in hardening the cell wall. Two main types are xyloglucan and glucuronoxylan. Disolve in strong alkali.
