  • 1.4.5. FIELDS OF STANDARDIZATION The Alliance produces standardization documents in the following fields: 1.4.5.1. OPERATIONAL NATO standardization documents that affect military practices, and may apply to doctrines, tactics, techniques, procedures, training, reporting, maps and charts. Note: In the operational field of standardization, there are five operational domains boards: joint, maritime, land, air, and medical. 1.4.5.2. MATERIEL NATO standardization documents that specify the materiel common technical requirements throughout its life cycle. Materiel may embrace complete systems, including consultation, command and control (C3) systems, weapon-systems and sub-systems, interfaces, assemblies, components, spare parts and consumables, including ammunition, fuel, and supplies. 1.4.5.3. ADMINISTRATIVE NATO standardization documents that facilitate Alliance administration in various areas including, but is not limited to, terminology, finances, human resources and military ranks.
