Domain metrologymeasuring procedurestest technology
  • katse, mille abil mõõdetakse mõõteotsaku (indentori) sissetungimissügavust materjalisse suure koormuse all võrreldes eelkoormusega
  • test measures the depth of penetration of an indenter under a large load (major load) compared to the penetration made by a preload (minor load)
Rockwelli kõvaduskatse preferred
Usage examples
  • Rockwelli kõvaduskatse on väga kulutõhus, kuna see ei kasuta tehtud väikese süvendi põhjal kõvaduse mõõtmiseks optilisi seadmeid, kõik arvutused teeb programmi järgi katsemasin, mõõtes proovi süvendit, andes selge tulemuse viisil, mida on lihtne lugeda ja mõista.
Good to know
  • Rockwelli kõvaduskatse kasutab erinevaid skaalasid, mida tähistatakse ühe tähega (A, B, C jne), mis kasutavad erinevaid koormusi või taandeid ja mõõdiseks on üksühikuga arv, mida märgitakse koos tähisega HRA, HRB, HRC jne, kus viimane täht tähistab vastavat Rockwelli skaalat. Metallide katsetamisel korreleerub indentori sissetungimissügavus ehk kõvadus lineaarselt tõmbetugevusega.
Rockwell hardness test
Usage examples
  • The Rockwell test is very cost-effective as it does not use any optical equipment to measure the hardness based on the small indention made, rather all calculations are done within the machine to measure the indention in the specimen, providing a clear result in a manner in which is easy to read and understand once given.
Good to know
  • There are different scales, denoted by a single letter, that use different loads or indenters, and the result is a dimensionless number noted as HRA, HRB, HRC, etc., where the last letter is the respective Rockwell scale (see below). When testing metals, indentation hardness correlates linearly with tensile strength.
