climax, high point
the highest point of tension in a film which the central character faces, confronts and deals with the consequences of their decisions and actions, and/or faces the antagonist in a climactic battle of final engagement. Typically a crisis leads to the climax. (Griffiths, 2015), resolves the issues raised by the action and provides the dramatic answer (answer to the dramatic question). Usually the most intense plot point in the work, i.e. the most conflictual and/or the most spectacular. (Lavandier, 2005), the protagonist is faced with one conflict after another until the major conflict which is the climax. This is the major event the protagonist must experience in order to achieve his goal. (Hiltunen, 2002, p. 125)
