Domain Chemistry
  • vacuum evaporation - a technique used for producing a coating of one solid on another, usually a coating of metal or semiconductor. Evaporation occurs from a solid or liquid at high temperature in a vacuum. At low pressures atoms leaving the hot surface suffer few collisions in the gas and can travel directly to a nearby cool surface where they condense, thus forming a thin film.
