Tropospheric (lower atmospheric) ozone is potentially an important greenhouse gas. Measurements show that tropospheric ozone is increasing in concentration in the Northern Hemisphere (where there is more human influence), perhaps 1% per year, but the situation is not as clear as for other greenhouse gases.
