Officially Approved for use under the Merchant Shipping (Fire Appliances) rules, 1965 and SOLAS 1974.
"FULLVU" FACEMASK made of non dermatitic Neoprene and has an air cushion seal around the face ensuring perfect fit. Fitted with a speech diaphragm and internal mask to prevent misting up. BREATHING TUBE links to the mask with Air Hose at an Angular Coupling attached to the harness by a hose clamp. SAFETY HARNESS constructed of Terylene Webbing. Hoisting loops carry a dee ring for lifeline attachment. LIFELINE 72 strand, flexible galvanized steel wire with an outer covering of plaited rope. 1.25" / (3.175 cm diam). Breaking strain of not less than one ton (1016.0 kg). The length is 10ft. (3.04m) longer than the air hose. FOOT BELLOWS has a double action, providing a continuous supply of fresh air. The intake is covered with stainless steel wire gauze to prevent grit being drawn in. AIR HOSE is of .750" (1.9cm) internal smooth bore, built up from layers of rubber and canvas with steel wire embedded in it to prevent collapse. A SIGNAL PLATE is screwed to the bellows and a corresponding one attached to harness. A SAFETY HELMET in white, heavy duty, to BS 5240. This apparatus is normally issued in a WOODEN STORAGE CHEST with handles for carrying or cleating down, painted red, lettered and with padlock and two keys.
