obtained by extracting and stretching the silk glands of silk-worms, killed in diluted acetic acid at the stage when they are ready to spin their cocoons, a fibroin obtained from the glands of silkworms which have been immersed in acetic acid. This is stretched out and produces very strong ends used for fishing line.
