A proposal was presented by the Commission for a Council and European Parliament Directive on connected telecommunications equipment and the mutual recognition of the conformity of equipment to replace European Parliament and Council Directive 98/13/EC of 12 February 1998 relating to telecommunications terminal equipment and satellite earth station equipment, including the mutual recognition of their conformity (11).
