power-assisted/electrically powered bicycle
Näited
  • The brand new Yamaha PAS (Power Assisted System) bicycles have a small electric motor to take the puff out of steep hills, longer distances and strong headwinds. Riding one is just the same as an ordinary bike, but unique sensors monitor the speed and pedal force provided by the rider and calculate when to supply extra power and thus make pedalling easier. The innovative Yamaha Power Assist System (PAS) doubles your pedalling power when you need it most. It is ideal when pedalling uphill or against a strong wind. The unique system combines human and electric power. Using a special sensor to continuously monitor pedalling power, a computerised controller determines the amount of additional power which is then provided to the rear wheel. The added power matches your own efforts at speeds of up to 15 kilometres per hour. When cycling at higher speeds (15 - 24 kilometres per hour), the power declines in proportion to the increase in bicycle speed.
  • It has been claimed that the Taiwanese can be credited with the most technical breakthroughs from the introduction of MTBs to full suspension bicycles and beyond. They are also reputed for their R & D allegedly leading the way in the production of power-assisted/electrically-powered bicycles, a growing sector in the market, and also being the world's leading producer of folding bicycles.
