The new treatment of students staying abroad is only relevant to GNP as far as the passage from GDP to GNP is concerned. Primary income received or paid by such students may count as primary income received/paid by host country in ESA 79 but by the home country in ESA 95. The amounts involved would seem likely to be small in practice.
