  • Aircraft performance data is based on a number of factors including aircraft weight, altitude and outside air temperature. Since these factors are constantly changing, the task of calculating optimum engine thrust limits, aircraft speed and altitude has gradually been automated with the advent of performance management system.

  • For aeroplanes, this performance data should be included to allow the determination of the following: (a) take-off climb limits — mass, altitude, temperature; (b) take-off field length (for dry, wet and contaminated runway conditions); (c) net flight path data for obstacle clearance calculation or, where applicable, take-off flight path; (d) the gradient losses for banked climb-outs; (e) en-route climb limits; (f) approach climb limits; (g) landing climb limits; (h) landing field length (for dry, wet and contaminated runway conditions) including the effects of an in-flight failure of a sy stem or device, if it affects the landing distance; (i) brake energy limits; (j) speeds applicable for the various flight stages (also considering dry, wet and contaminated runway conditions).
  • Performance data for take-off, approach and landing shall be calculated by the applicant in compliance with the operations manual or flight manual for the aircraft used.
