Dissolve 5,0 g powdered p-rosaniline hydrochloride with about 1000 ml hot water in a 2000 ml volumetric flask. Leave in the water bath until completely dissolved if necessary. Dissolve 30 g anhydrous sodium sulphite (or an equivalent quantity of sodium metabisulphite) in circa 200 ml water and add to the cool p-rosaniline solution.
