  • Oriental tobacco is mainly grown in the countries of the eastern Mediterranean. These tobaccos are low in nicotine due to the low nitrogen content of the soil where they are grown, and also due to low moisture levels. Some oriental tobaccos: turkish - before the Balkan War in 1912-1913, it was the name for all Oriental tobaccos. This was a time when the most important Oriental tobacco growing areas were under Turkish rule.
