"Separate smoking room" means an enclosed room in which smoking is permitted. Such room shall (i) be clearly designated, (ii) comply with all applicable fire code requirements and (iii) have a separate ventilation system whereby the air from such enclosed room is immediately exhausted to an outdoor area (exclusive of any seating area) by an exhaust fan rather than being recirculated inside, and is negatively pressurized to prevent backstreaming of second-hand smoke into smoke-free areas.
