lamp black
a soft black carbon pigment obtained by incomplete combustion of natural gas or petroleum (formerly seen in paraffin lamp chimneys). A soft grade of carbon black used extensively in inks and paints., a pigment of organic, mineral and natural origin used during the I century d. C.. It has a very fine aspect. It is made at the 99% of amorphous carbonic obtained by means of the combustion of oils, grease and petrol in lack of air by condensing the fumes on the iced walls. It has a discreet opacity. It can be used as an equivalent of black smoke.
