clad(ding) - the outer jacket or thin layer, usually of metal, which covers nuclear fuel elements to prevent corrosion of the fuel and the release of fission products into the coolant. Aluminium or its alloys, magnesium alloys, stainless steel and zirconium alloys are common cladding materials.
Description by means of drawings or otherwise of all nuclear material in the installation showing:
(a) all types of units including normal handling units;
(b) chemical composition or main alloy constituents;
(c) form and dimensions;
(d) enrichment;
(e) nominal weight of nuclear material with design tolerances;
(f) cladding materials;
(g) methods of identifying units.
