  • immunological tolerance - a state in which an animal fails to respond to an antigen capable of inducing humoral or cell mediated immunity, which has been induced by prior administration of the same antigen by a route or in a form such as either to eliminate potentially responsive lymphocytes or to induce specific suppressor T-cells.
