  • streptokokid - Streptococcaceae sgk-a Streptococcus'e prk-a kuuluvad bakterid. S-d on grampositiivsed liikumisvõimetud kerakujulised bakterid, toitumistüübilt kemoorganotroofid, fakultatiivsed või obligatoorsed anaeroobid, paiknevad ahelana või kahekaupa, ei tekita spoore (on asporogeensed), mõningad liigid moodustavad kapsli. Elavad loomade (ka inimese) parasiitidena, põhjustavad msg. haiguseid.
  • the major group of pathogenic (Beta)-hemolytic streptococci. The characteristic group A carbohydrate is composed of rhamnose with terminal N-acetyl glucosamine.
