(i) 'Extra' class
Carrots in this class must be of superior quality and washed.
The roots must be:
- intact,
- smooth,
- of fresh appearance,
- regular in shape,
- free from fissures,
- free from bruises and cracks,
- free from damage caused by frost.
They must have the characteristics typical of the variety. Green or violet/purple tops are not allowed.
