A camera that does not use traditional film which records images by means of chemical reactions in layered emulsions. Instead, it can store as many as 96 images at once on tiny memory chips. The images can be transferred to other media by plugging the camera into a personal computer, television or VCR. In place of a viewfinder, digital cameras use liquid-crystal displays. The LCD can also display previous images on command and allow users to delete those they don't like. Expected in five years.
