Member States shall adopt the measures required to ensure a high level of child health protection in regard to phthalate-containing soft PVC childcare articles and toys intended to be placed in the mouth of less three years of age, and notably the substances di-iso-nonyl phthalate (DINP), di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), dibutyl phthalate (DBP), di-iso-decyl phthalate (DIDP), di-n-octyl phthalate (DNOP), and butylbenzyl phthalate (BBP). Particular attention should be paid to the substances DINP and DEHP.
