  • Convention determining the Member State responsible for examining an application for asylum lodged in one of the Member States of the European Union

  • The Dublin Convention was signed in Dublin, Ireland on 15 June 1990, and first came into force on 1 September 1997 for the first 12 signatories. The Treaty has been extended to other Member States and some countries outside the Union. The Dublin Convention was replaced by Council Regulation No 343/2003 (Dublin II regulation). Its validity ended on 16 March 2003.
