Community legislation in the area of "animal nutrition" covers additives, compound animal feedingstuffs, dietetic feedingstuffs, straight feedingstuffs, undesirable substances and products, certain products (proteins obtained from micro-organisms etc.), micro-organisms and enzymes as well as methods of analysis and sampling. All this legislation is concerned primarily with conditions for use and commercialisation of feedingstuffs in order to guarantee a high standard of animal and human health.
