The Parties agree that, notwithstanding the provisions of paragraphs 2, 3 and 4, the provisions set out in the Exchange of Notes dated 18 July 1988 between the Commission of the European Communities and the United States Mission to the European Communities concerning the Agreement for Cooperation in the Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Energy between the United States of America and Japan shall remain in effect as long as this Agreement remains in force.
