PEP carboxylase - the enzyme that catalyses the reaction of phosphoenolpyruvate and CO2 to give oxaloacetic acid, especially as the fist step in both the Hatch-Slack pathway and crassulacean acid metabolism in both of which the oxyloacetic acid is then reduced to malic acid
