The Office (for Infrastructure and Logistics in Brussels) shall be responsible, in particular, in respect of the Brussels site, for: (a) administering the acquisition, leasing and maintenance of the moveable and immovable property of the Commission together with the associated inventories and questions relating to VAT; (b) organising removals and space management; (c) administering: (i) transport services for staff and goods for internal purposes; (ii) incoming and outgoing mail and the internal distribution of documents for the Commission's directorates-general; (iii) the reproduction services; (iv) office supplies; (d) implementing rules relating to the physical security of buildings, on the basis of the instructions of the Security Directorate of the Directorate-General for Personnel and Administration, and in particular administering the "security contract" (contrat gardiennage); (e) administering the social welfare facilities provided for staff of the Community institutions, such as restaurants, self-service canteens, staff shops and sports centres; (f) providing services to the institutions covering certain social welfare facilities such as crèches and after-school child-minding services; (g) adopting the necessary measures to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements in Commission buildings.
