Ühenduse Sordiamet julgustab innovatsiooni sordikaitse alal, menetledes ühenduse sordikaitse taotlusi mõistliku hinna eest, andes samal ajal oma sidusrühmadele tegevusalaseid juhiseid ja abi nende õiguste kasutamisel. Uute taimesortide kaitse kogu ELis aitab seista sordiaretajate huvide eest ning tagada, et nende investeeringud teadustegevusse ja innovatsiooni on kasumlikud.
