The country nomenclature for the external trade statistics of the Community and statistics of trade between Member States - known as the "geonomenclature", abbreviated to GEONOM - is an essential element in compiling these statistics. In particular, it makes itpossible to identify those involved in trade, i.e. the reporting country and the partner country.
