An emergency travel document (ETD), the common format of which is shown in Annex I is a travel document which may be issued for a single journey to the applicant's Member State of origin, country of permanent residence or, exceptionally, another destination. It may be issued to nationals of Member States on the authority of the State of which the person is a national.
