Decoquinate is a quinolone coccidiostat which can be administered via the feeding stuff at levels up to 1 mg/kg bodyweight/day for up to 28 days for the prevention and treatment of coccidiosis in calves and lambs. It has a long history of use and is an approved feed additive as defined by Directive 70/524/EEC. The substance is used as an in-feed medication as well as a water-soluble medication.
