DG Communication is in charge of informing and communicating about the policies of the European Union with the public at large. It works through the media, opinion leaders, Commission Representations and information networks in the Member States. It is responsible for informing the Commission on trends in public opinion and in the media landscape and on political developments, as well as for coordinating communication actions within the Commission.
