  • ultrahelimeetodil põhinev mittepurustav katsetamine; eristatakse kahte peamist katsetusmeetodit: ultraheliläbivalgustusmeetodit ja ultraheliimpulss-kajameetodit (vt ultrahelitehnika, ultrahelikatse)
  • a method of testing for flaws in which an ultrasonic source is pressed against the part to be tested, using some form of gel to act as a some coupling to the surface, and sound is passed into material and reflections on the back face are received; the two major methods of ultrasonic inspection are the transmission method and the pulse-echo method (see: ultrasonics, ultrasonic test)

  • non-destructive test that based on the propagation of ultrasonic waves in the object or material tested
ultrahelikatse preferred
Usage examples

Usage examples
  • Ultrasonic testing is often performed on steel and other metals and alloys, though it can also be used on concrete, wood and composites, albeit with less resolution, and used in many industries including steel and aluminium construction, metallurgy, manufacturing, aerospace, automotive and other transportation sectors.
