Domain analytical chemistry
  • the lowest concentration of a substance that can be detected using standard tests but which is too small to be measured with certainty
avastamispiir
detection limit
Usage examples
  • In recent years plastic food contact materials are being developed that do not only consist of one plastic but combine up to 15 different plastic layers to attain optimum functionality and protection of the food, while reducing packaging waste. In such a plastic multi-layer material or article, layers may be separated from the food by a functional barrier. This barrier is a layer within food contact materials or articles preventing the migration of substances from behind that barrier into the food. Behind a functional barrier, non-authorised substances may be used, provided they fulfil certain criteria and their migration remains below a given detection limit.

Domain metrologymeasuring procedures
  • antud mõõteprotseduuriga saadud suuruse mõõdis, mille korral eksliku väite tõenäosus, et komponent puudub materjalis on β, kui on antud tõenäosus α, mis ekslikult väidab komponendi olemasolu
  • measured quantity value, obtained by a given measurement procedure, for which the probability of falsely claiming the absence of a component in a materials is β, given a probability α of falsely claiming its presence
avastamispiir preferred
Usage examples
  • Avastamispiiri asemel ei ole soovitav kasutada terminit “tundlikkus”.
Good to know
  • IUPAC soovitab vaikimisi võtta α ja β väärtusteks 0,05.
avastamiskünnis
tuvastuslävi
detection limit preferred
Usage examples
  • The abbreviation LOD is sometimes used; the term “sensitivity” is discouraged for "detection limit".
Good to know
  • IUPAC recommends default values for α and β equal to 0,05.

Domain metrologymeasuring instrumentsmeasuring procedures
  • implanteeritava impulssgeneraatori funktsiooni järjepidevaks juhtimiseks vajalik minimaalne signaal
  • quotient of the change in an indication of a measuring system and the corresponding change in a value of a quantity being measured
  • for a given value of the measured mass, the quotient of the change of the observed variable and the corresponding change of the measured mass
  • minimum signal required to control consistently the function of the impantable pulse generator
tundlikkus preferred
Usage examples
  • Väga paljude mõõtevahendite spetsifikatsioonides on mõõtevahendi üheks metroloogiliseks omaduseks märgitud tundlikkus.
Good to know
  • Tundlikkus võib sõltuda mõõtesuuruse väärtusest, seejuures mõõtesuuruse väärtuse muutus võrreldes tundlikkusega peab olema suur.
tuvastuslävi
Usage examples
  • Tuvastuslävi on elektrilise signaali minimaalne amplituud mõõdetuna mV, mille seade, nt südamestimulaator, peab tuvastama, et südametegevust täpselt registreerida.
sensibiilsus
sensitiivsus
Good to know
  • Võõrsõna
sensitivity preferred
Good to know
  • Sensitivity can depend on the value of the quantity being measured. The change considered in a value of a quantity being measured must be large compared with the resolution.
sensing threshold
Usage examples
  • A sensing threshold is the minimum amplitude of an electrical signal (measured in mV) that a device, such as a pacemaker, must detect to accurately register cardiac activity.
sensibility
responsivity
