Keeritsusstõve ehk trihhinelloosi tekitajaks on ümarusside hulka kuuluv keeritsuss. Eestis on loomadelt leitud kolm keeritsussi liiki: Trichinella nativa, T. britovi ja T. spiralis. Erinevad liigid nakatavad erinevaid peremehi.
