Statistikast ilmneb, et nii tekstiilijäätmete teke kui ka ladestamine Eestis on vähenenud, aga taaskasutamise osa mõningal määral suurenenud.
Kohaliku omavalitsuse üksus peab korraldama vähemalt paberi-, papi-, metalli-, plasti-, tekstiili- ja klaasijäätmete ning kodumajapidamises tekkivate ohtlike jäätmete liigiti kogumise.
