  • a cable used underwater from one point to another for power or communication. Lead sheath and/or rubber jacket. Installed on sea, lake or river beds, and consisting of conductors and insulants, usually in coaxial form, with provisions for tensile strength to permit laying in the sea, and exterior protection as required by ambient conditions.
