Spirit glasses. Compared to wine glasses, drinking glasses for spirits have a significantly smaller volume due to the lower pouring quantities. As with wines, the shape of these glasses is designed to bring out the flavours particularly well. There are special shapes for brandy, cognac, grappa, schnapps and whisky. A simple form is the stamperl, which is commonly used in Austria and Bavaria (Germany).
