In order to indicate types of farming with the exception of organic or biological farming, only the terms set out hereunder and the corresponding terms in the other Community languages listed in Annex III may appear on the labelling within the meaning of Article 1 (3) (a) of Directive 79/112/EEC if the relevant conditions specified in Annex IV are fulfilled: (a) 'Fed with... % of...'; (b) 'Extensive indoor' ('Barn reared'); (c) 'Free range'; (d) 'Traditional free range'; (e) 'Free range - total freedom'.
Bulls should be provided with a sufficiently rich environment to allow social interactions. Normally it is easiest to do this by loose housing. Except where the herd is very small or where disease, injury or bullying by other animals makes separation necessary, bulls should be kept in groups.
