an envelopment attacking one of the enemy’s flanks only
Good to know
In a single envelopment manoeuvre forces are passed around one side the enemy’s main defensive position. It is the preferred form of manoeuvre when the envelopment has the purpose of a rear-attack or when the terrain is not suited for a double envelopment. It is the easiest form of an envelopment in terms of coordination in the depth.
